Built in partnership with Porsche, this was one of the most advanced and expensive super car sedans of its time. With extremely low production numbers over just 3 years, the 500Es have already become a classic and have really held their value.
When you see this 500E, it is obvious that this car was never in any harsh weather or and always pampered. The interior looks bright and barely used. Exterior paint is in excellent condition. I’ve seen 500Es with half of this mileage that don’t look nearly as nice. Also, silver on a 500E is extremely rare. The bulk of the cars were painted Black Pearl (Anthracite).

They are a blast to drive with incredibly nimble handling. It is clearly evident that Porsche developed the suspension for this car. If you have only experience the latest MBs, you will be surprised at the level of build quality on these older cars. The 500Es were hand built and one of the most reliable of the W124 cars created. For the time, they were loaded with quite a few amenities including the following:
Memory seats
Heated seats
Electric rear window shade
Projector beam fog lights
Rear fog lights
1 touch electric windows
Memory seats
Real burl wood dash and front/rear consoles
Electric telescoping steering wheel
Dual airbags
Factory privacy/tinted glass
Electric rear headrests
Climate control
Outside temp gauge
Snow chain drive mode (early traction control)
All service was maintained either at the local Mercedes dealer or at a certified trained MB independent repair shop. Included are service records dating back to when the car was only a few years old. Also, recently the transmission was replaced as well as the rear main seal ($4,000 job and probably one of the only weak links in this tank-like cars). The brakes were also replaced when the service was completed.
Don’t be fooled by the mileage. This is a fantastic deal for a straight, clean, no-story classic!
All books and keys are included as well as most of the records and dealer stamps in the maintenance book.
